Miss A

I started my working life as a nanny, taking care of other people’s children, before spending 30 years working in the private sector. After retiring at the age of 61, I began cooking kuih muih from home and placing them on consignment at a nearby local restaurant. They helped me sell the kuih, and I was able to earn some income from there. Unfortunately, the restaurant later closed after the owner passed away, and I stayed at home as a housewife.

Rather than doing nothing at home, my fellow flatmate, Miss D, shared with me about KSK’s Empowerment Programme, including the sewing and baking initiatives. It has now been two years since I started baking at KSK.

With the income I receive, it helps to reduce the burden of buying fresh produce on a daily basis. On average, I spend about RM30 a day on fresh produce, not including additional items that may be needed.

I am truly grateful to Miss D for introducing me to KSK’s Empowerment Programme. Now that I have this opportunity, I would like to encourage everyone to support our cookie tubs. This is our collective effort to support our families, and with your support, it gives us hope.

Mari la support kita!
